The province of Parma extends from the banks of the Po river in the Parma lowlands to the Apennine mountains following undulating green hills; the territory is quite naturally rich and variegated, and delightful to experience by bike, hiking, trekking with snow shoes or playing golf  on one of the splendid courses. This area is also rich in thermal spas, well known since ancient times. The spas of this province are amongst the most important in Europe: Salsomaggiore, for example, with the magnificent Berzieri spa in pure Art Deco style or else Tabiano and Monticelli with innovative wellness centres.
